THE TOUR:

The creation of the “Parco delle Cave” has been possible thanks to the reclamation of some old caves in the Marsala area. It appears as a hidden town and presents a peculiar architecture shaped by the extraction of calcarenite sandstone lithoid, also known as “tufi”.
In the past, caves were indeed used to extract material to be employed as the built foundations of temples, monuments and houses in towns like Mothia and the ancient Lilibeo.

While walking through uncontaminated and wild areas, we will have the chance to visit an extraction cave and, at the end of our tour, to experience an exquisite food tasting of local food products.
